Cyprus Tax Calculator

Use the Zeno FinLab Cyprus Tax Calculator to estimate Cyprus income tax and related deductions based on your income and selected tax year. The calculator is designed as an indicative planning tool and does not constitute tax, financial or professional advice.

Cyprus tax residents are generally taxable on worldwide income, subject to applicable exemptions, exclusions and special rules, so your residency status is the starting point. Answer a couple of questions and we’ll tell you where you stand — then take you straight to the 2026 calculator.

Start with the residency questions here, then continue to the calculator for your free on-screen estimate. After calculating, you can optionally unlock the detailed Cyprus Tax Intelligence Report and PDF for a one-off €4.90 — nothing renews. Sign in or create a free account before purchasing. The report is also included with active Zeno FinLab Plus access.

Residency assessment is based on the information provided and the applicable Cyprus tax-residency criteria. Day count is important, but the 60-day route also depends on your residency elsewhere, Cyprus ties and an available permanent home.

Which tax year are you calculating for?

The rates, bands, ceilings and reliefs switch to the law in force for the year you pick.

Currently: Tax Reform 2026

How many days will you spend in Cyprus this year?

Count every day of physical presence. The day you arrive counts; the day you leave does not.

Answer the questions above and your residency result appears here.

The Zeno FinLab Cyprus Tax Calculator applies the rules configured for the tax year you select to the figures you enter. Different years use different rules — for example, 2024 and 2025 use the pre-reform bands with a €19,500 tax-free threshold, while 2026 uses the reformed bands — so choosing the right year matters.

Tax residency

The residency test above asks about the days you spent in Cyprus and elsewhere. Under the 183-day rule, spending more than 183 days in Cyprus in the tax year generally indicates residence. The 60-day rule can apply if you spent at least 60 days in Cyprus, did not spend more than 183 days in any other single state, were not tax resident elsewhere, and had Cyprus ties such as employment, business or a directorship, plus a permanent home in Cyprus. Residency depends on these criteria together, not on a day count alone.

How income is treated

  • Taxable income is built from the income you enter, less the deductions and exemptions the selected year's rules allow and that you indicate apply to you.
  • Tax bands are applied progressively: each rate applies only to the part of income that falls within its band.
  • Contributions such as social insurance and the General Healthcare System (GHS) are calculated separately at the rates configured for that year.
  • Deductions and reliefs are applied only where you select them and where the year's rules provide for them. Income and bands are not automatically prorated for part-year situations.

Illustrative example (hypothetical figures)

Suppose a resident has €40,000 of taxable income in 2026. Under the 2026 bands, the first €22,000 is taxed at 0%, the next €10,000 (up to €32,000) at 20% = €2,000, and the remaining €8,000 (up to €40,000) at 25% = €2,000. Income tax before any other adjustments would be about €4,000. This example ignores contributions, deductions and reliefs, which the calculator handles separately.

Why the result is an estimate

The calculation is only as complete as the information entered. Your actual filing position can differ because of income types, exemptions, foreign tax credits, timing, or facts the tool does not ask about. Official returns are submitted through the Cyprus Tax Department's own systems, and the figures there take precedence.

Important limitations

  • This is not tax advice and does not replace a qualified adviser or official guidance.
  • Unusual situations — part-year residence, multiple countries or complex income — may need professional review.

Frequently asked questions

It is for adults who want an indicative view of Cyprus tax residency and personal tax, contribution and relief calculations from the facts they enter.

You choose from the tax years supported in the calculator. The selected year's configured bands and rules are applied, so 2025 rules are not mixed with 2026 rules.

The calculator separately applies the configured income-tax bands, Social Insurance, GHS and relevant defence-contribution treatment for the selected year and inputs.

It includes supported non-domicile and deemed-domicile inputs when applying defence-contribution treatment. Complex domicile facts may require professional review.

No. It is an indicative estimate, not tax advice or an official filing calculation, and it does not submit information to the Cyprus Tax Department.

Check the selected year, residence facts, income types and relief eligibility, then verify the position with official guidance or a suitably qualified Cyprus tax professional.
