Questions
Frequently asked questions
The Cash Flow Forecast projects your cash position over the next twelve months using the figures from your Healthcheck plus any one-off events you add.
Inflows, outflows and cash position
- Inflows are your monthly income plus any one-off amounts coming in.
- Outflows are living costs, debt payments and any one-off amounts going out.
- Projected cash position is the opening cash for each month plus that month's net flow. The closing figure becomes the next month's opening figure.
How the forecast is built
The starting point is the cash you can actually spend from today. Income and spending are held flat each month unless you apply an adjustment, and nothing is inferred or invented. One-off events are placed in the month you choose. The forecast highlights the lowest and strongest months so pressure points are easy to see.
Hypothetical example
Suppose you start with €5,000 in cash, earn €3,000 a month, spend €2,200 and pay €400 towards debt. Each month adds €400. If you add a €3,000 one-off cost in month four, the closing balance that month is €5,000 + (4 × €400) − €3,000 = €3,600, after which it grows by €400 a month again.
How assumptions shape future months
Because every month builds on the previous one, a small change in recurring income or spending compounds across the year, while a one-off event shifts every later month by the same amount.
Important limitations
- The forecast is a scenario based on your supplied figures, not a guarantee.
- Seasonal income, price changes and irregular bills are only included if you add them.
- Interest earned on cash and changes to debt terms are not modelled month by month.
